Anestheologist – General Anesthesia, Oral & IV Sedation

Joel Waring, MD

After completing his anesthesiology residency at Maimonides Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, Dr. Joel Waring completed his fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Denver, University of Colorado. He returned to Maimonides where he worked for 9 years. During this time, Dr. Waring served as core faculty to the anesthesia residency program. He had an active role in education by conducting weekly board review, giving monthly lectures, and creating a high-fidelity simulation program.

Dr. Waring also served as Director of Trauma Anesthesia. Dr. Waring eventually left the medical center to join an office-based practice, which allowed him to spend more time with his wife and two sons. Dr. Waring was quickly recognized as the most trustworthy anesthesiologist. Because of his competence and calm-under-pressure nature, he would routinely be the first member of the group to provide anesthesia services at a newly acquired office.
